Greetings, I thought it was time to play with the forums. I don't know why. I'm currently (since November) working on the Topsail Schooner "Eagle", as part of Alex's ship in bottle course. It's been a long process. I've made ships-in-bottles before, but that was 30 years ago and I find I'm having to re-learn a number of skills that apparently had faded away, as well as adding new techniques learned from Alex. As I mentioned at the meeting, I've launched enough parts into the ozone to completely fit out another ship but I suppose it's good practice time. Here are a couple of photos of the earlier stages.

A couple of photos of the bow detail. Just don't look at the paint job. It's not quite done yet.

Wow, Keith, that looks great. I'm impressed at the bowspirit rigging. I didn't realize you could do that much that didn't need to fold down!

Let the rigging begin! I think I've finally finished with the fiddly bits on the deck. At this rate, I should have it in the bottle in 5 or 6 years.

I am really impressed with the level of detail to which you chose to go on deck. Things like the stairs and the railings really sell the model.
Can't wait to see the order in which you rig it! Thanks for the pictures.
